Culbreth Middle School Science Wing Addition – LEED Silver
Chapel Hill, North Carolina
In 2012, Grey Culbreth Middle School completed the new 15,000 square-foot, Alice Gordon Science Wing. The new wing was designed to “bring the outdoors in” with clerstory windows, curtain walls, outdoor experiment patios and an educational greenhouse. The new wing can house up to 100 more students and the six new lab classrooms have LED light fixtures, occupancy sensors and dimming light switches to help lower energy usage in the wing.
