NC State Burlington Labs – Research Reactor Cooling System

Designed and managed the construction of enlarged capacity cooling system to allow the Burlington Labs 1MW Pulstar reactor to operate at 2MW in future. Improved control of reactor cooling system to maintain steady pool temperature. System included a new heat exchanger, filtration pumps, controls and upgrade to the existing cooling tower. Coordinated design effort with Enercon Services in Atlanta, Georgia.
Project Cost: $1,200,000.
